Springtime in Houston

Larissa & James met four years ago while they were both studying and living in Austin. Since graduation, they both relocated to Houston, and on a recent spring day, we set out to take some candid snapshots of them among the wildflowers that were in bloom.

Having spent the better part of my childhood in Houston, I am constantly pleasantly surprised by the little hidden gems that you can find between the buildings. This little space, completely grown over with bluebonnets and other native Texan wildflowers, was hiding in plain sight just off of Allen Parkway, a frequently trafficked road just outside of downtown.

It took a little bit for them to feel comfortable in front of the camera (it always does), but at the end of the day, we all had a blast, and I think the pictures definitely reflect it.
